Reflections of Sunday

So blessed to watch what God is doing at Biltmore.  I love hearing story after story of God redeeming, rescuing, and restoring people.  It’s humbling to see how our folks are reaching out to their friends and families.  From the young husband coming to Christ and breaking from addiction, to all of the ladies who trusted Christ at this weeks Gathering, to the lady who got out of prison on a Friday and was at church on Sunday with one of our members.

Loved the music this morning.  Thought the building was going to blast off with “He Loves Us” (the John 3:16 video intro was an awesome touch).  Always awesome to watch baptisms.  Loved teaching the God is Bigger series.  The study was challenging and encouraging.  All the teaching and testimonies are available for free at media page. This morning’s text of Luke 9:56-62 was super challenging and feel i barely scratched the surface of what is there.  Excited about kicking off the Compelled series this next Sunday.

As mentioned this morning, I have gotten a lot out of Kyle Idelman’s book “Not a Fan”. I recommend you reading it.  The Not a Fan Prayer from this morning is printed below.  It is a mix of stuff from the book and an old prayer called the Fellowship of the Unashamed.

Not A Fan Prayer

“I am not a fan.  I am a follower of Jesus Christ.  My past is redeemed, my present is Spirit-filled, and my future is secure.  I won’t look back, fall back, or back away.  Where Jesus leads, I will follow-whenever and whatever.  I am finished with rebellious living, tame visions, mundane talking, chintzy giving, purposeless living.  I will pick up my cross and follow Him.  When Jesus comes, He will have no trouble finding me for my colors are clear.  I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and I am NOT a fan.”

Time to go to bed.  Looking forward to having James MacDonald at Biltmore this Wednesday at 7pm.
